Sales Forecast

•  A Simple Sales Forecast Example
This example shows a simple forecast of web-related sales by month, with cost of sales by month as well. Add up 12 months to get the totals for the year. The educated guessing might be hard, but the math is simple, and the spreadsheet work is simple.
•  Build on Past Data When you Can
When you have past data to call on, use it. Always compare your forecast to past results. Look to the past as a reality check. Understand what's changing and why, and what may remain the same.
•  A Units-Based Sales Forecast
This more detailed sales forecast is still relatively simple. Guess your sales by units, your price per unit, and your cost per unit. The math to produce sales and cost of sales is not complex. Ideally it should link to web traffic, as this forecast does.
•  Projecting Cost of Sales
Normally a sales forecast includes not just sales, but cost of sales as well. Although not all Web plans include cost of sales, it's a good idea, and easier to do while you're doing your forecast than later on.
