Part of what makes a plan real is the physical presence, a document that people can refer to. When you finish your plan, remember that presentation is important. Try to produce a readable document that combines the text and the tables and charts together into an attractive format.
- If you can, keep the tables and charts together with the related text discussions so that your readers can refer to them while they read.
- A cover page and table of contents is almost always included.
- Appendices are a good way to include back-up information and details such as monthly forecast. They are also good way to handle the problem of page layout.
- Keep your main plan in a vertical (portrait) layout that's easier to read, then put your monthly forecasts and budgets into horizontal (landscape) format so you can display all the months on a single page.
