If you're looking for information about the development process for putting together your business plan, know that the process is about the same for most plans. Regardless of the content of the plan, the steps you take to develop one, the topics you cover, the outlines, projections, and components of a plan, are similar across all industries and all plans.

The best advice I have heard is to just get started. If you don't know what you should include in your plan, check out a template (http://www.bplans.com/business_plan_template/) or an outline (http://articles.bplans.com/writing-a-business-plan/a-standard-business-plan-outline)

There are also software tools to help with this, and then you can focus on your business and not all the behind-the-scenes stuff. Both LivePlan (http://www.liveplan.com/) and Business Plan Pro (http://www.paloalto.com/business_plan_software) are great products, depending on your needs.

Best of luck.

Do you want to franchise a restaurant, or do you wanr to buy a franchised restaurant ?

Most established restaurants in South Africa request an upfront fee for their franchise documentation.

This can be anything from ZAR 150,000 to ZAR 1 Miillion. This payment is then offset against the Franchise Fee if you buy a franchise. Otherwise you loose it.

This documentation has full guidelines and criteria.

I was involved some time ago in preparing a Business Plan for an O' Hagans Restaurant.
Very comprehensive.
